FAQs

To ensure proper assessment and place you in the correct Medi-Pedi stage, we require recent, clear photos of your feet before confirming your appointment.

What is a Medical Pedicure (Medi Pedi)?

A medical pedicure focuses on the health of your feet and nails rather than cosmetics. It includes nail and cuticle care, callus and corn reduction, fungal treatment, and overall foot wellness in a clean, sterile environment.

How is a Medi Pedi different from a regular pedicure?

Unlike traditional salon pedicures, Medi Pedis are performed using medical-grade tools, no water tubs or jets, and focus on foot health rather than polish or spa treatments.

Your place of operation is a bit confusing. Where are you located? In Philly or Michigan?

Rye’tious Nails is located in Westland, Michigan at 37616 Ford Road, Westland, MI 48185. We are not currently operating in Philadelphia, although we are making strides to return in the future. All services at this time are available exclusively at our Michigan location.

Do I need to have a foot condition to book a Medi Pedi?

Not at all. While Medi Pedis are excellent for those with foot concerns, they’re also great for anyone who wants preventive care and a sterile, safe alternative to salon pedicures.

Are your tools and equipment sterilized?

Yes. All tools are cleaned using a hospital-grade autoclave to ensure complete sterilization after each client. Single-use items are properly disposed of after every visit. Additionally, 15 minutes is scheduled between each client to disinfect all equipment and furniture before the next service begins.

Can I get a Medi Pedi if I’m diabetic or immunocompromised?

Absolutely. Medi Pedis are ideal for high-risk clients, including those with diabetes or autoimmune conditions, as we follow strict safety and sanitization protocols.

What if I have toenail fungus or thickened nails?

You're in the right place. We are trained to manage fungal nails, thickened nails, and other foot conditions. A customized care plan may be recommended based on your needs.

Will my insurance cover this service?

Medical pedicures are not covered by insurance. However, you may use HSA/FSA funds for eligible services. Always check with your provider for reimbursement guidelines.

Do you treat children?

Yes, we provide services for children with foot and nail concerns. Please contact us in advance to discuss your child’s needs and confirm age-appropriate treatment.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 50% non-refundable retainer is required at booking. You must cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours in advance. Same-day cancellations and no-shows are charged in full.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Cash, Debit/Credit Cards, HSA, and FSA. The remaining balance is due after the service is rendered.

I'm on the waitlist—when will I hear back?

Thank you for your interest! We currently have over 360 people on our waitlist, and we’re doing our best to accommodate everyone in the order received. You will be contacted via email or text once an opening becomes available or when we begin onboarding new clients from the list. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we grow to meet the demand for quality medical foot care.

I’m embarrassed to send my photos. Can I book without sending pictures first?

We completely understand that sharing photos of your feet can feel uncomfortable. However, photo submission is mandatory to assess your current foot and nail condition and determine the appropriate Medi Pedi stage. If photos are not submitted, we will not be able to approve or schedule your appointment. All photos are kept private and are used solely for professional evaluation.

What are HSA & FSA Cards?
  • HSA (Health Savings Account): A tax-advantaged savings account available to individuals with high-deductible health plans. Funds can be used for qualified medical expenses, including specialized foot care services.
  • FSA (Flexible Spending Account): A pre-tax account offered through employers that allows employees to set aside funds for eligible healthcare expenses, including certain podiatry-related treatments.

If using an HSA or FSA card, please ensure your account covers medical foot care services before booking. If needed, we can provide an itemized receipt for reimbursement purposes.

Do you treat ingrown nails?

Rye’tious Nails does not treat infected ingrown nails that are puncturing the skin and contain pus. These types of infections require medical attention and you will be referred to a podiatrist for proper care.

However, we do service painfully curved nails that may feel uncomfortable or press into the skin but are not infected. These can often be managed and corrected using a specialized nail bracing system designed to relieve pressure and retrain the nail’s growth pattern.
